A substance belonging to the saponine group. Dr. Muricio Langpon, a Uruguayan citizen, has carried out pharmaceutical tests and has come to the conclusion that the ôambainaö is a heroic cardiac tonic as well as a diuretic whose action is similar to that of digitoxin, over which it has the advantage of being bearly toxic and almost innocuous.
